McMASTERS CEMETERY

This historic McMasters Family Cemetery has been used as a burial location for over 215 years.
Buried in this cemetery are some Pioneer First Colonial Families in North Carolina that settled in the
Mount Pleasant Creek and Sandy Creek community in the mid 18th century of Colonial Orange County.
Currently it is located in Columbia Township, in north eastern Randolph County, North Carolina south of Liberty
just west of Highway 49 on Sandy Creek Road and South about 1 1/2 miles on Soapstone Mountain Road.
The McMasters Cemetery has been maintained, preserved, fenced, restored, mowed monthly, and visited frequently
by the living descendants of those buried there and by the Peter Kivett Family Association, Inc.
